Bach meets musebook score

"Today we are at a historical moment that Bach meets world-first music-recognition capability of electronic score.", said the pianist Choong-Mo Kang (prof. The Korean National University of Arts) at his concert opening. Since 1999 when Kang first started Bach, he has consistently saturated all his life in the music of Bach, and Kang had the denouement of the Bach Keyboard Series at Seoul Arts Center on Dec 20th, 2003. On his 10th, and the last concert of Bach Keyboard Series had musebook score made successful debut.

about musebook score

musebook score is an electronic score solution which automatically turns pages and shows current performing notes in real-time. Piano player with musebook score is recommended to use Tablet PC instead of sheet music and open MusicXML score files saved in user's hard disk. As one play the piano, musebook score listens to the piano performance through a microphone, tracks the notes, then turns pages automatically. Therefore the player can concentrate on music without being bothered from page-turning.

Kang used 2 Tablet PCs on his piano stand and performed 'The Well-Tempered Clavier Book II' for over 2 hours. Choong-Mo Kang, known to possess 'exquisite touch and delicately crafted Bach,' performs 'The Well-Tempered Clavier Book II' that conductor Hans vonn Bulow once likened to Old Testament.

His concert was live broadcasted on KBS radio "FM Concert Hall" (http://www.kbs.co.kr/aod/1fm1215.html, Korean display) and was prerecorded for his documentary film on KBS TV.

2003 Music Korea

The Frontier in Music Recognition Technology, AMuseTec proposes digital innovation in sheet music with introduction of musebook score at Music Korea 2003 (16-19th, Oct, 2003).

musebook score is an electronic score solution which automatically turns pages and shows current performing notes in real-time. Piano player with musebook score is recommended to use Tablet PC instead of sheet music and open MusicXML score files saved in user's hard disk. As one play the piano, musebook score listens to the piano performance through a microphone, tracks the notes, then turns pages automatically. Therefore the player can concentrate on music without being bothered from turning pages over.

Not only does musebook score have automatic page-turning function, but also show current performing notes in user-defined color. By comparing user's piano performance with original score file, it colors the note-head when it is correctly performed. It helps piano learners, especially the young, read scores easily by providing interactive music lesson environment. This makes often tedious piano practicing more fun, consequently piano practice can be far more effective.

musebook score can be used either at home or school using both acoustic and digital piano. Its Tablet PC compatibility adds more power to digital sheet music, giving it real mobility and realizing almost paperlike music score by annotating yourself with digitized pen. Official release of musebook score will be coming January at NAMM 2004.

AMuseTec @Musikmesse 2003

AMuseTec's second exhibition at Musikmesse was a great success. As usual, its software product did attract many buyers and guest's attention. Their response to our software was brilliant and stunning, or some mentioned they are very advanced technology.

AMuseTec endeavors to achieve user-friendly environment for customers to make music they like. The technology barrier may be high but when the goal is set, it is not so, hence can be achieved, AMuseTec believes.

musebook score, an electronic music score solution, turns pages automatically and tracks your piano performance by receiving piano sound through a microphone.

It shows where you are playing marking the note head green as well.

musebook score works with Tablet PC which is easy to mount on your piano stand and you can save more than ten thousand pieces of music in it. Demonstration of musebook score will be available all along the show.

AMuseTec released musebook® midimic v1.0 before Musikmesse. People found this product very amusing, entertaining but also educational - musically motivating. AMuseTec has some more plan to develop and release entertaining but musically motivating software in a near future.
