iPadOS Auto Lock Solution

iPadOS 13.2 fixed the following bug so that please update to iPadOS 13.2 asap.

- iPadOS 13.0~13.1 bug -

While supporting iPadOS 13 multi-window, the following issues occur with the auto-lock disable of the iPad screen.

When you run an app for the first time, the 1st window scene (1) is displayed on the screen. While the window scene (1) is displayed on the screen, the auto-lock disable will operate normally.

After the second or later window scene is displayed on the screen in iPadOS 13, only if the window scene (1) is displayed together on the screen, the auto-lock disable works normally; otherwise, auto-lock disable doesn't work.

Tip: how to solve?

If you close all window scenes of the app, the app will be terminated. Please lastly close the window scene (A) to which you want to apply auto-lock disable.

If you run the app again, the last terminated window scene (A) is launched as the first window scene and window scene (A) will be running with the auto-lock disable.

If you want to see document browser of PDF Notes S or PDF Notes C, please long-press on its icon at home -> Show All Windows -> select one if exists -> otherwise, touch (+) at the top right corner.

Please use the above tip until iPadOS has been improved and auto-lock disable is applied to all windows scenes.

What if PDF Notes app doesn't appear in the Share or AirDrop list?

After updating to iOS 13 and iPadOS 13, a few customers have reported that PDF Notes app does not appear in the Share or AirDrop list.

I've tested it and found this problem occurs in the devices in which many PDF related apps are installed, and this is similar to displaying up to 10 apps in the oldest order in the Open-In menu in iOS 5 and earlier.

In other words, in iOS 13, when displaying apps that can process PDFs in the Share or AirDrop list, it is assumed that iOS 13 displays apps in a limited amount of old order.

As a result, newer versions of PDF Notes apps, such as those updates for iOS 13, will not appear in the list. i.e., if pdf-notes has been updated recently, pdf-notes may disappear from the list.

This problem needs to be fixed by Apple, but it can be resolved in the same way as before iOS 5.

By deleting lower priority apps that you don't use often, if you can keep the number of PDF related apps installed on your devices less than or equal to the (unknown) limited number, all PDF apps will appear in the Share or AirDrop list.

8 years ago, pdf-notes had been developed for iOS 3.0 so that there have been some difficulties to adapt new technologies of newer iOS versions. We had to develop one for iPad and the other for iPhone because universal app for both was impossible at that time, do some difficult works to convert from 32 bit engine to 64 bit, failed to adapt some new technologies including split views, etc.

Therefore, we have developed PDF Notes S to adapt new technologies of recent iOS versions to the existing pdf-notes technologies; now it supports PDF 2 pages viewer, split views, multiple windows, seamless fast page turning and quick zoom, etc.
